Inspired by childhood memories of fishing in the River Avon, which flows through Muiravonside Country Park where Jonny’s workshop is based, this functional art piece captures the tranquillity of nature. Crafted from sycamore offcuts salvaged from the Scottish Borders and framed in oak from a sawmill in Dunfermline, it celebrates the beauty of reclaimed materials. Around 80% of the mirror glass is also repurposed from bedroom furniture.
Each mirror is carved using a combination of chainsaws, chisels and power tools to create flowing textures that echo the movement of water. With its warm tones and organic design, it’s ideally suited to an entrance hall or large room, offering a calming presence that brings the outdoors in.
Backing: Felt backed with a French cleat mount.
