Jonny Stableford

Jonny Stableford, known as Jonny Chainsaw, has been carving for over 25 years. Based in Muiravonside Country Park, Falkirk, he creates chainsaw art that includes unique sculptures, benches, birdhouses and bespoke commissions, all crafted from single logs. With a background in forestry and arboriculture, Jonny brings both technical skill and creative artistry to every piece, producing work that is distinctive, characterful and built to last. His chainsaw art carvings have taken him across the UK, Europe and the USA, and he continues to share his passion for chainsaw art through demonstrations and commissions.

All of Jonny’s chainsaw art carvings are created using responsibly sourced timber. He is accredited with the Scottish Working Wood Label, a guarantee that at least 80% of the wood he uses is grown in Scotland and comes from legitimate, traceable sources. This ensures not only that each piece is ethically made, but also that the journey of the wood - from forest to finished carving - can be fully followed. When you purchase a carving from Jonny Chainsaw, you are supporting sustainable woodland management and the preservation of Scotland’s natural resources.
